Stuffed capsicum


  • Ingredients Required;
  • 6 medium sized Capsicum whose top is cut and cleaned inside
  • 3 medium sized onion finely chopped
  • 1 cup of green peas (Optional) boiled
  • 2-3 boiled potatoes which are peeled and mashed
  • 1cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of coriander finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup of coarsely ground roasted peanut
  • 1/4 cup coarsely powdered cashew nuts
  • 1-2 teaspoon of chilli powder
  • 1-2 teaspoon of garam masala powder
  • 1-2 teaspoon of coriander powder 
  • 1 teaspoon of haldi
  • 1 teaspoon of jeera
  • salt to taste
  • 6-8 teaspoon of refined oil 

Procedure to make;


  • Wash the capsicum properly and keep aside.
  • In a separate bowl mix the boiled potatoes, finely chopped onions, boiled peas, tomatoes and peanuts, cashew nuts, coriander, chilli powder, garam masala, coriander powder and salt as per taste and mix properly.
  • Add a bit of oil to this mixture.
  • Now stuff this mixture into the cleaned capsicum and keep aside.
  • Now heat oil in a kadai and add jeera and haldi to it. Kadai should be heavy bottomed or u can use a pressure cooker also.
  • Add the stuffing mixture to this if any remaining and saute for sometime.
  • Now add the Stuffed capsicum and cover the vessel and let it cook till tender.
  • If making in cooker then u can cook for a single whistle.
  • Serve hot with Roti or plain paratha or phulkas.
