Oats and Wheat paratha

Again a twist to plain paratha we eat regularly. A packet of oats does wonders. Made it last night and family appreciated it a lot.




Ingredients Required:
  • 1 cup of curry flavoured oats ( saffola curry flavoured oats)
  • 1/4 cup of plain oats
  • 1-2 cup of whole wheat flour
  • 1 tspn of tumeric powder
  • 1 tspn of chilly powder
  • 1 tspn refined oil (for kneading dough)
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tspn of ajwain
  • warm water to knead dough
  • oil to fry the parathas

Procedure to make :-


  • As with all recipes of oats grind oats in to make a fine powder.
  • In a kneading bowl add ground oats, wheat flour and all other ingredients expect water.
  • Mix throughly and add little more oil if required and mix throughly.
  • Add warm water gradually and knead to make a dough which neither too stiff nor too soft. Finally after done sprinkle a little oil and knead once.
  • Allow to rest for 10-20 mins before dividing into 6-7 equal balls.
  • Smear a little oil on rolling surface and rolling pin and start rolling these balls into paratha.
  • Now fry these rolled paratha on a hot girdle till golden brown.
  • Serve hot with sweet mango pickle (chunda) and curd.
